Editing map styles

A map Style is a set of customizations that can be associated with a map ID, which is referenced in app code to display the customized map. Once you have laid out your map, you can use Maptunik to edit this. This open source software will allow you to modify the styles exported from the Bettermaps app, thus making your cartography a much more visual and complete product.

Exporting style files

Before using Maputnik, you need to download your style locally. Exporting the styles is simple and fast. Once the cartography is finished, you must go to export and select the style map option. The file will be exported as json and saved to your computer.

Open a style

Once you have exported your style from bettermaps, press the Edit Style button. Now all that remains is to import our json file into maptunik, to do this simply go to the top left and press open.
